The Tennessee State Library & Archives is offering free, in-person educator workshops for the 2026-2027 school year. Join us for an engaging professional development opportunity focused on strategies for teaching topics from the Growth of the Republic era, including David Crockett, President James K. Polk and John Ross, through the use of primary sources. During the workshop, educators will explore primary source analysis activities designed to support classroom instruction and engage students with Tennessee history. Participants will learn strategies aligned with Tennessee Social Studies and English Language Arts curriculum standards and discover ways to incorporate primary sources into their lessons. This workshop is part of the Tennessee State Library & Archives’ 2026-2027 educator workshop series, which provides educators with hands-on strategies and resources for incorporating Tennessee history and primary sources into classroom instruction.
